Bardhyl Coli

The certified hotelier Bardhyl Coli (39) has been the host and General Manager of the four-star superior “Waldhotel Davos” from June 2012 until May 2018 and has oventaken the management of “Hotel Vitznauerhof” in May 2015.

Prior joining the two historic properties, he was responsible as Deputy Director of the “NH Hotel Berlin Mitte”. Since September 2018, Coli has taken on the role of General Manager of the 5-star “Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa”. Furthermore, he owns the “Gubelhof Suites”, 12 Serviced Apartments and the café “Kaffee Frech” in the city center of Zug.

Storyline

The Swiss has had a textbook career and passed through all the essential stages of the hotel industry in just 10 years. His career began in 2000, when he completed his service training at the Seminar Hotel Kartause Ittingen. In the following years, he put his knowledge into practice at the Restaurant and Hotel Jägerhof in St. Gallen as Chef de Rang and was trained to become a sommelier.
In 2003, Bardhyl Coli began his second apprenticeship as a chef in the Gasthaus Römerhof in Arbon. Soon, he led all kitchen stations independently in the 16-point GaultMillau-winning restaurant.

In 2005, Coli returned as restaurant manager and sommelier to the Restaurant and Hotel Jägerhof in St. Gallen and was jointly responsible for the 17 GaultMillau points and 1 Michelin star.

After two years, he made his way to England in 2007, where he worked at the five-star Capital Hotel London in another gourmet gem with 19 GaultMillau points and two Michelin stars as Chef de Rang. 

The aspiring hotelier left the Food & Beverage division the following year and expanded his know-how at the front desk of Hotel Hof Weissbad before successfully completing his apprenticeship as a hotelier in April 2008 at the Hotel Management School Belvoirpark in Zurich. Once again, Coli left Switzerland and moved to the NH Hotel Berlin Mitte in Berlin, Germany. Initially, he was responsible there as F&B Manager and later as Deputy Hotel Director.

His dedication to his job and challenges led Coli to the Waldhotel Davos, where he successfully completed the renovation of all rooms and assumed the role of General Manager in June 2012. With only 28 years old, Coli had fulfilled his personal dream. “Guest Amazement” is the motto of the thoroughbred hotelier, which he repeatedly implemented in his new role with a great deal of personal commitment and his extensive experience.

In May 2015, Bardhyl Coli has taken over the Hotel Management of the  Vitznauerhof. This charming four-star superior hotel on the shores of Lake Lucerne is open from early May to mid-October. In the winter season, from end-November to the beginning of April, the management team continues to run the Waldhotel Davos together.

Since September 2018, Coli has taken on the role of General Manager at the 5-star Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa which has 119 rooms and suites, 6 restaurants, 2 bars and a 1200 square meter Alpin Spa. As the Project Manager of the renovation of the hotel and new construction of eight chalets, Coli is heavily invloved in the development, positioning and sale of the luxury apartments.

Furthermore, he took the step into self-employment and opened the café “Kaffee Frech”  as well as the “Gubelhof Suites”, 12 Serviced Apartments in the city center of Zug.

Bardhyl Coli takes on the planning and development of two further hotels:
WYNA Hotels & Resorts – Digital Motel, Lucerne Region
La Palma au Lac – 4 Star Holiday Hotel, Locarno

In 2022, Coli Hospitality AG opened the Design and Digital Hotel in the heart and old town of Lucerne. The Lubo – an innovative and contemporary hotel concept.
